a poor man pays twice

A saying whereby the “poor man” buys a cheap version of something only having to replace or repair it shortly after. Tradesmen know the truth of this when it comes to tools, good quality tools will always outlast some crappy piece of snot that was, “too good to be true”.

Often it’s not that we are “poor”, but that the marketing makes the inferior product look great and the true value is hidden with the more expensive supplier, it’s when you get to the nitty gritty you find out that the cheap version was just nasty.
